Android 10 through 17

Explicit support window. Clear boundaries. Better predictability for your fleet.

BTMOB only targets Android 10–17. That includes the Android 10 (API 29) baseline through current Android 17 releases as they land in the field. If a device reports Android 9 or lower, it should not be enrolled.

Why draw the line at 10? Android 10 introduced major privacy and enterprise changes that most MDM programs now assume: scoped storage direction, improved biometric flows, stronger defaults around background location, and a more consistent enterprise feature surface. Maintaining agents and policies for Android 6–9 multiplies QA cost while covering a shrinking share of corporate fleets.

Enrollment modes on 10–17

Fully managed (device owner) for corporate-owned devices, work profile for COPE/BYOD where appropriate, and dedicated device / lock task for single-purpose hardware. Exact menus vary by OEM, but BTMOB documents the flows that work across the supported range.

OEM skins

Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, Pixel, and others ship different settings paths. BTMOB’s guidance focuses on Android Enterprise standard paths rather than one-off rooting or sideloading tricks. Always pilot a small device set per OEM before mass enrollment.

Security patch awareness

Compatibility is not only the major version. Track security patch levels in inventory reports and set compliance rules so devices falling behind your risk policy are flagged for refresh.
